Teaching Writing - Paragraphs

Paragraphs (formal or creative) may well be the best activity for teaching and learning writing, and for developing as a writer. For a teacher, paragraph-writing is quick and easy to use both for homework and in class, especially where homework is not likely or possible, and for both formative and summative assessment.

Join our overview of using paragraphs as a Teaching & Learning and Evaluation (TaLE) strategy as we review

  • paragraph-types
    • creative, narrative
    • descriptive
    • argumentative, persuasive
    • reflective
  • a teacher-friendly and reliable assessment (formative) and/or evaluation (summative) approach

This Philosophy and Practice (methodology) interactive seminar is suitable for

  • Middle (G4 - 8) and High School teachers
