Planning and Running English Week

English teachers are often tasked with running "English Day" or "English Week" with little or no guidance, while even those with experience look for support and new ideas. These sessions provide a road-map to a successful English Week (or Day) and ideas you can incorporate into yours.

The sessions are especially useful for current and newly-appointed Heads of Department, Heads of Section and Academic Directors. We recommend that anyone interested in this session should also consider our Leading a Department session.
  • Session I = A step-by-step how-to guide to running a successful English Week
    • For those who have not run English Week before or who have run one or two only. We review planning, preparation, pre-, post- and during, policies and procedures, pitfalls, allies and sand in the gears. Based on and rooted in experience.
    • Attendees will receive our 100 Ideas for English Week, a 3-page pdf of activity ideas.
  • Session II = Fifty activity ideas for a successful English Week
    • For those who have run three or more English Weeks and need new ideas or to refresh their programme. Visible, successful and teacher-friendly.
    • We strongly recommend taking Session I before taking Session II
  • As-needed Coaching and Critical Friend support
    • Support for planning and running events, promotion, finding support, finance and budgetting, plan reviews and feedback, experience-based pointers and suggestions ...
