Writing Formal Letters

Formal letters are more than just Letters to the Editor (which are disappearing in any case) ranging from Applications to Complaints to Responses to applaications and complaints.  Although not always feasible, especially in an EFL programme where paragraph-writing might be the sine qua non, formal letters are very important for our students´ futures and they offer opportunities for both formative and summative assessment. This seminar reviews letter-types, teaching approaches and a teacher-friendly, reliable assessment strategy. For High School (G9 - 12) EFL teachers and G5 - 12 E2L, bilingual and immersion teachers.

This is one of our methodology seminars - please click here for more information on our seminars programme. A C1 or higher level of English is assumed.

Ask us about Practice and Feedback support to develop and improve your own writing.

Ask us about other programme and methodology coaching and short courses for the Upper Secondary (G9 - 12) level.

Ask us about a closed session where you choose who, what, when or to be placed on the interest list for the next open session.
