Advanced Use of English Vocabulary : Diversifying Your School's Income Streams

This is Advanced English Vocabulary session grew from a coaching seminar for school leaders and administration staff. During this one-hour single-topic session, we review the vocabulary of Income items, and explore the terms and related language.

English for School Administrators

Schools can be run, led, administered and governed and the differences are not always clear. In small schools, one person may perform all these functions, while in large schools and school corporations, several people may be responsible for all or even for each. While these functions are interesting to review, the English involved is both general and specialised. These Advanced English sessions develop and extend the English of, for and about school administration. 

Performance-related (merit) pay and teachers

Merit-pay. Payment for Performance, Payment by Results / Outcomes / KPIs - different names for largely the same thing. We often hear that "schools should be run more like a business" (true in many respects, but not in the way proponents expect) and that teachers should be paid for performance. FInd out why this latter assertion can not work and never has.
