Active Learning Mathematics : Numbers 1 - 31

This session is rooted in the Philosophies and Practices of Active Learning and of Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and provides plug-and-play, tried and true activities for teaching numbers 1 - 31. Although the examples given relate to teaching Mathematics in English, they are appropriate for programmes in other languages. Lower Primary (G1 - 4) teachers will also find this useful.

This is one of our Cambridge Primary seminars for teachers in or seeking to join a Cambridge Primary Programme school. An awareness of the Cambridge Pathway and its underpinning philosophies is assumed. We also suggest you have taken the introductory Philosophy and Practice seminar before taking this, or its companion seminars :

  • Active Learning Mathematics : Numbers 1 - 60
  • Active Learning Mathematics : Numbers 1 - 100

This session is also useful for teachers in experiential programmes such as High Scope, IB, Montessori and Reggio.
