English in Cambridge Primary is not as much of a subject as it is a collection of receptive and productive skills; the "what" comes from other subject areas. So when teaching Art or Mathematics or Music or Science, the Cambridge Primary teacher must plan with language acquisition and development in mind.
Effective lesson planning comes from (a) a clear philosophy of Teaching and Learning (b) clear objectives and (c) an organised and systematic approach. This seminar reviews an effective and developmentally appropriate model which combines subject area content and English language in a truly immersive or CLIL learning experience.
This is one of our Cambridge Primary seminars for teachers in or seeking to join a Cambridge Primary Programme school. An awareness of the Cambridge Pathway and its underpinning philosophies is assumed.
This is a Philosophy and Practice seminar - please click here for more information on our seminars programme.
This session is also useful for teachers in experiential programmes such as High Scope, IB, Montessori and Reggio. Ask us about other programme and methodology coaching and about short courses for Early Years and the Lower Primary (G1 - 4 or 1º ciclo) level.
A C1 or higher level of English is assumed.
