The IB's Extended Essay

 

Since the International Baccalaureate's launch in the mid to late 1960s, the Extended Essay has been a part of the Diploma's central areas and mandatory for Diploma candidates. Many Extended Essays are published, Extended Essays can, and often do, feature prominently in university admissions decisions and many are the basis of later university and/or graduate work. Extended Essay success is not as daunting as it appears; we can show you how.

C1 Advanced Writing Practice & Feedback

While Writing may be the most difficult skill to master, it can also be a good place to pick up some points in the Cambridge C1 Advanced* examination. However, the only way to develop in Writing is not through study but by writing, and the key to successful Writing development is receiving feedback. Because everyone's style and needs are different, Writing feedback must be individual.

Planning and Running a Successful English Workshop

 

Many schools seek to increase their English offering both in terms of programme and in terms of time through offering "workshops". New teachers are often asked to offer such a workshop without much in the way of preparation or guidance, while even those with experience look for support and new ideas. This session provides a road-map to a successful English Workshop and ideas you can incorporate into yours.

Advanced Use of English Grammar : Transitive and Intransitive Verbs

 

At a basic level, verbs can be divided into transitive or intransitive, however this division is not always basic. English has many transitive / intransitive uses of the same verb and different pair-forms of several common verbs, and of course phrasal verbs enter the discussion.
