Since the International Baccalaureate's launch in the mid to late 1960s, the Extended Essay has been a part of the Diploma's central areas and mandatory for Diploma candidates. Many Extended Essays are published, Extended Essays can, and often do, feature prominently in university admissions decisions and many are the basis of later university and/or graduate work. This support is offered by an experienced and highly successful IB teacher (83% A grades), based in personal knowledge and experience. These are not official IB programmes, and should be seen as complementing what is provided by an authorised IB school.
