Advanced English Grammar : Transitive and Intransitive Verbs

 

At a basic level, verbs can be divided into transitive or intransitive, however this division is not always basic. English has many transitive / intransitive uses of the same verb and different pair-forms of several common verbs ; of course, phrasal verbs enter the discussion.
