Welcome to our fifth programme of summer professional development and support for teachers, educational leaders and administrators.
Sessions are based on an audio, visual or written prompt which develops comprehension and understanding ("reception") with an emphasis on improving and developing vocabulary, structures and usages. A different input text is sent to participants prior to each session for preparation, and the model, texts and activities are suitable for use with a participant's classes.
Each session is stand-alone, although of course practice makes perfect thus a cumulative benefit of several sessions, and also provide advanced speaking and listening practice.
EFL (English as a Foreign Language)
EFL texts are more restricted in Use of English, and may even be rewritten versions of another text. Activities are more black and white, focussed on understanding and on Who, What, Where and When.

E2L (English as a Second Language
E2L texts are generally unrestricted in Use of English, aalthough they may have been written for a certain lexile of "reading-age" level. Activities begin to look at interpretation, adding Why and So What to Who, What, Where and When.

These are one-hour synchronous online video-conferencing sessions. These open enrolment group sessions are limited in size to allow for participation and questions. Minimum group sizes apply. Ask us about closed programmes where you choose who, what, where and when. A C1 or higher level of English is assumed.
