Open group programme, preparation for the Cambridge English C1 Advanced (formerly known as "CAE") Examination. We cover knowing and understanding the examination and its components, Practice of & Feedback on each component, and success and preparation strategies. Whether you are registering for the examination, or are considering it and want to know how to succeed, this programme provides what you need to know.
The 30-hour open group programme is comprised of thirty one-hour sessions, online via Meet, aiming at the June and July 2023 C1 Advanced examination sessions. Two options :
(a) 6.00 - 7.00pm, Mondays / Wednesdays / Fridays, 20 March - 31 May. Knock a session out of the park before settling down for dinner.
(b) 9.00 - 10.00pm, Mondays / Wednesdays / Thursdays, 20 March - 31 May. Put the kids to bed, kick back and relax with an exam prep session.
- Overview, strategies, maximising your score, preparation strategies
- Introduction, overview, strategies for success : 2 sessions
- Reading & Use of English : component reviews, markschemes, success tactics, Practice & Feedback, preparation strategies : 15 sessions
- Speaking & Listening : component reviews, markschemes, success tactics, Practice & Feedback, preparation strategies : 5 sessions
- Writing : component (Essay, Review Report) reviews, markschemes, success tactics, Practice & Feedback, preparation strategies : 5 sessions
- Problem Clinics and Student Choice of topic : 3 sessions
Although reasons for or explanations of responses to particular questions and/or tasks will be explored, this is not a language acquisition and development programme.
Fees apply on a sliding scale from $107.500 for the 6.00pm group, or $99.000 for the 9.00pm group depending on group size. Groups have a maximum of eight group members to allow for participation. Depending on group size, registration may also be open to those interested in only one component, for example Writing.

I took this programme recently, in February, and to be honest it was much helpful. I felt underprepared in terms of strategies, especially the reading part, and the sessions paid great benefits. Then, I highly recommend the intensive sessions, filled with practice, test strategies, test practice and on point explanations. Robert is highly-prepared and professional, so hopefully you could take one of his programmes before you sit the exam.

I took a group programme, but I ended up being alone, so he had no problem in adjusting the lessons according to my needs. I highly recommend taking the course with Robert if you want to be better prepared for the exam.
