This session considers how, when and why one of the most popular vocabulary items for learners is used, and its multiplicity of functions and of meanings, from both social and academic perspectives.
During this one-hour interactive seminar we cover literal and metaphorical uses, noun and verb-phrases, avoidance techniques and popular extended uses. Attendees will receive a useul "how to" guidr and links to academic and hilarious treatments of the topic.
This session comes from our Advanced Use of English Practice & Feedback series. Each one-hour single-topic session reviews advanced instances and implications of the topic, problem areas, common errors and traps, and includes illustrative exercises and time for a "problem clinic".
