Private teacher or institute programmes?

When studying at an Advanced level, students must often decide between a private teacher and private lessons, or an institute and open lessons. What factors may be important? Why a private teacher? Why an institute? Why not? What's the difference? Is either worth the time and/or money?

  1. Private teachers are always better than an Institute.

  2. I paid an institute $350.000 for CAE preparation and all they did was follow a book. Many students in the group had better level than the "teacher" who could not answer our questions. Never again.

  3. I agree. Institutes charge too much and give too little.
