Advanced Vocabulary : woke

The recent popularity of the political and increasingly derogatory "woke" prompts discussion on the term's formation, and its relationship to other similar and related words, for example wake, woke, awake, awakened, a wake, to wake and the awakening.

This session comes from our Advanced Use of English Practice & Feedback series. Each one-hour single-topic session in the series reviews advanced instances and implications of the topic, problem areas, common errors and traps, and includes illustrative exercises and time for a "problem clinic".
