Advanced Use of English Practice & Feedback - gerund or infinitive

A particular bugbear for Chilean students and teachers of English, knowing when, how and why to use gerunds or infinitives can be challenging. In fact, this is so challenging that we have created three challenge levels, and to date, no-one has scored 100% on any. Will you be the first?

"Stop to help" and "stop helping" are not so hard; "I hate smoking" and "I hate smoking" a little more so. Getting going or getting to go? What about aspect in "going skiiing" compared to"going to ski"?

This Practice & Feedback approach comprises a series of tasks to identify areas of doubts, and then explorations of the patterns behind the appropriate responses. Prior to the one-hour single-topic session, we send you Advanced level exercises testing your knowledge of the structures or vocabulary for you to complete. During the one-hour live online session, we review the answers and then discuss those questions with which participants had difficulties and, depending on time, other topics which may arise.

We also offer more advanced Practice & Feedback, and grammar and usage focussed sessions.
