Several universities in Chile have international and US accreditation through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), however many of the academics and administrators involved with both accreditation and re-accreditation are unfamiliar with the English of accreditation and with the MSCHE process. This Advanced English series reviews MSCHE publications, using them as prompts for advanced language development.*
Prior to each session, participants are sent an extract from the MSCHE Self-Study Institute Modules for review. During the session, we review the text for its meaning (contents) and language, and depending on time, we also discuss the relevance of the text to the participants' realities.
Session titles* :
- Standards for Accreditation
- The Self-Study Guide
- Module One - Introduction to MSCHE and Accreditation
- Module Two - Initiating the Self-Study Process
- Module Three - Developing an Effective Self-Study Design
- Module Four - Hosting a Sef-Study Preparation Visit
- Module Five - Writing the Self-Study Report
- Module Six - Developing and Using the Evidence Inventory
- Module Seven - Hosting an On-Site Evaluation Visit
Ask us about the off-the-shelf sessions above*, or about specific sessions relevant to your reality. Some of these modules are longer than others and require two sessions for a full review.
**This is a series of Advanced English sessions and not an official or endorsed MSCHE training, although they will be useful for anyone involved in the accreditation process. Sessions will also be useful for those involved in other international accreditations, for example at school level.
