Thomas has been called an "almost war-poet" which mght be why he is not well-known, yet this poem is one which everyone should at least have read. Join us as we review the work and ask, is it just a poem about rain? Suitable for advanced EFL students and teachers, and frequently included in GCSE and IGCSE Literature text lists.

Positive Language and Framing

A few years ago, a study revealed that the most common words from teachers' mouths were "no", "don't", "stop" and so on. In other words, prohibitions and negative language. Yet positive language and positive reinforcement is what works, so how can teachers change their mindsets and reframe their language? Join us as we explore this issue with practical approaches to making a posituve change in how to speak to and with students (and colleagues).
